Cash App may be a peer-to-peer money transfer service developed by Square Inc. that allows users to send and receive money. This service can help you send utility payments to your roommates, pay friends back for coffee, split the cost of a visit, or the other money-sending task you want to accomplish with other Cash App users. Cash App also functions similarly to a bank account, giving users a debit card called a “Cash Card” that allows them to form purchases using the funds in their Cash App account. The app also allows users to invest their money in stocks and buy and sell bitcoin.
Start by downloading Cash App on your smartphone. The app will walk you through enrollment, where you’ll create a user account and link a minimum of one bank account. You’ll be ready to use that bank account to send money to other Cash App users also on transfer money from your Cash App account into your bank account. this is often similar to services like Venmo and PayPal, which also allow you to link a bank account to send money; you'll also hold any received funds within the app until you’re ready to withdraw them.
1. Open the Cache app on your iPhone or Android and tap on the "$" symbol at the bottom center of the screen.
2. Enter the amount of money you want to send.
3. Tap the word "Pay" at the bottom-right corner.
4. Enter the e-mail, phone number, or $cashtag of the recipient.
5. Enter a brief memo noting the purpose of the payment besides the word "For."
6. Click "Pay" and your money will be sent to the recipient.
How does Cash App work?
The Cash app has a simple interface that makes it easy to send or receive money. Tap the dollar amount you want to send or receive, tap "Request" or "Pay," and you'll be seconds away from sending a friend money or requesting that they send you money.
The money you send and receive through Cash App can come from a linked debit card, credit card, or bank account - but you'll also add money to your Cash App account and draw from that balance once you send funds. you'll even get your paycheck direct-deposited into your Cash App account if you want to maximize your Cash App balance.
Once your Cash App account is set up, you'll request a Cash Card. This cash app card is a free debit card that works when a visa is accepted. Any purchases you set on your Cash Card get withdrawn from your Cash App balance (or if you do not have enough money in your balance, your linked bank account) - and Cash App's Boost program allows you to earn rewards on everyday purchases, including $1 off coffee shop visits.
If you are interested in investing, the Cash app lets you invest your account balance in stocks or bitcoins. Start investing with as little as $1, and use your Cash App balance to invest in popular companies like Nike, Apple, and Disney.
What are the fees?
There are two possible cash app fees, although both are avoidable.
Cash App charges the 3rd fee if you use a credit card to send money, but making payments with a debit card or bank account is free.
If you request a quick transfer of funds from your Linked Debit Card to your Cash App account, the Cash App also charges 1.5%. If you request to transfer money to a bank account, the transfer is free - however, you want to wait 1-3 business days for the transaction to process.
